The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State on Friday inaugurated its caretaker executives for the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
A statement by the media team of the committee which was made available to Daily Trust Saturday in Abuja, said the inauguration of the committee followed the expiration of the tenure of the former executives.
The statement noted that at the expiration of the tenure of the former executives, the national headquarters of the party sent a state caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party pending when elections would be conducted for the substantive executive to be put in place.
The state caretaker committee chaired by a former Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Umar Mungadi yesterday inaugurated members the LGAs caretaker committees for a smooth transition after congresses at the local government levels.
According to Mungadi, the mission of the State caretaker committee was essentially to oversee the conduct and smooth running of PDP in Jigawa State for the party for its growth at the respective local Government councils.
