Many Feared Dead As Herdsmen Attack Otobi In Benue State.

Armed herdsmen have attacked Otobi in Akpa District of Otukpo LGA of Benue State, North-Central Nigeria. The attack was said to have started at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.


A lawmaker representing Otukpo-Akpa Constituency in Benue State House of Assembly, Kennedy Angbo who hails from Akpa district, confirmed the attack in a telephone conversation with AIT.live.

He says an unconfirmed number of persons have been killed in persisting attacks and with hundreds of displaced persons on the run.

A resident of the Otobi community, Edwin Emma who called AIT.live says many persons are feared killed as he calls for help from the government and security forces.


“We are being attacked by herdsmen in  Otobi community, my wife and children are fleeing from the community as I speak, please call for help”.

Otobi, the community hosting the Federal Ministry of Water Resources Multipurpose Water Dam, has come under attack twice in the month of April as the security guard at the facility was killed about 10 days ago.
